Where it all began…

7 years ago I was severely depressed, hopeless and suicidal.

I was a full time high school teacher, working over 60/70 hours a week. I was constantly being told that everything I did was wrong, book scrutinies, lesson observations. The leadership team would regularly have whole staff meetings where they would basically tell us all how sh**t we were and how we needed to improve. I had zero control or creativity over what I taught and everything I did, even the slides and how I taught the lessons was micromanaged to the max. Behaviour in the school was pretty scary, teachers were regularly physically assaulted, glass broken, teachers pushed down staircases by students, teachers disappearing for 6 months on a mental health breakdown (and this was before covid!).

Most evenings I barely had the energy to even make myself dinner and would just collapse in bed.

After tax I was bringing home less than 1k per month. My rent was £800. I was living alone and could barely afford to support myself so I started working a weekend job on top of all this just to try and pay the bills.

I would wake up every day, full of life, energy, and by lunch I would feel like a zombie, like all the life had been taken away and I was existing not living, going through the motions of life. I think this picture says it ALL! Can you see the pain behind those eyes??!

For the last five years I have grown multiple online businesses, lived in over 13 countries, financially supported myself and my lifestyle. I’ve made a full time income in my sleep selling eBooks and self-study courses online. I’ve worked with clients and students one to one. I’ve run programmes, courses, masterclasses. I’ve had five years of trial and error and experimentation and it has been the most blissful, euphoric and liberating experience of my life.

From stressed to blessed…

Nowadays, I live in my dream villa, with my dream partner and our two rescue dogs surrounded by beautiful friends! I never imagined life could be this good and looking back, I honestly can’t believe how I survived those dark days!

Growing an online business has allowed me to:

• Work online from anywhere, travel the world and live wherever I want
• Prioritise joy and fun every day
• Get paid for doing something I love, working when I want and charging my own prices
• Work part-time hours and have the time, space and energy to do whatever I want with my life and actually have a healthy life and work/life balance
• Share the gifts of my soul, speak my truth and live my dharma and life purpose

AND NOW…I want to give back!

7 years ago ‘spirituality’, ‘soul’ and ‘manifestation’ weren’t even words in my vocabulary. What I discovered pretty quickly after starting my online business is that your business is an external manifestation of everything that is going on internally for you. It is your greatest mirror and will bring up ALL your sh**t!!!! Sh**t you don’t wanna deal with, sh**t you didn’t even know you had! And you have no choice but to face it and to go through it. Entrepreneurship is truly the process of connecting with the gifts of your soul and allowing yourself to be seen and share them abundantly with the world.

Over the last five years I have deep dived into therapy, life-coaching, trauma healing, poetry healing, art therapy, yoga, breath work, human design etc etc. Business has been the catalyst for so much of my healing and has given me the space, time, safety, financial support and energy to actually do this healing work.

My goal is to teach and share all the things I’ve learnt along the way and share my learnings, my education, my experiences with love and authenticity!

I want to empower as many people as possible to connect with the gifts of their soul and build a truly authentic business that allows them to step into radical self-acceptance, self-mastery and be financially rewarded for the gifts they came here to share. I honestly believe online business is about building the business you need to share the gifts your soul cam here to give. You are here for a reason.

So, that is why I founded The Shine Academy! I want to help you to achieve your dreams and launch and scale your online business! I take a no nonsense, no BS approach and I am all about taking radical action, being brave and having the courage to shine your light!
